Create

I chose plastic as media because using a newspaper would be too dull to represent the 'feminine' part of the dress since it's black and white. And newspapers easy to break, so it will be hard to work with. Also, it's difficult to find something to piece the newspapers together. If you use tape and you make a mistake on putting the tape then it will be hard to take off because the newspaper will be ripped off. And tape will be very visible on the skirt and it won't look good to look at.

I chose to use plastic as my media for my skirt but instead of having bags draping, forming a bubble dress. I decided to cut up the plastic to make it easier to work with because using full bags limits you from making different forms.

To piece the cut up plastic together, I will sew them to each other to keep a stronger bond that will keep the skirt from falling apart. Instead of using tape that will act as glue because tape isn't as strong to keep it together and it will not look pleasant seeing tape stuck onto the plastics.

To sew the plastic together, I'm gonna take two pieces of cut up plastic then put packaging tape on the side to keep the two plastics temporarily together and to keep them straight. I chose packaging tape because it's easier to remove from the plastic. If I use masking tape, the plastic will stick onto the tape and when you remove the tape, the plastic will be ripped. Then, I will sew the plastic together, just like how you would sew normal fabric.
